THE BASIC PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS IN THE ENGLISH SUBJECT: A RASCH MEASUREMENT MODEL

A matter of great interest to researchers in the field education today is how improve students' well-being, engagement, or learning achievement tertiary level contexts. Some scholars suggest start from assessment satisfaction upon their basic psychological needs. However, recently, number validated tools assess needs still rare. This study measured validity and reliability an adapted theory used foreign language learning. There were two developed questionnaires identify which covers a different indicators. The presented empirical evidence using Rasch Model. pilot was conducted universities cities, Indonesia. 34 students as participant this study. Data analyzed WINSTEPS version 3.69.1.11. Results show that instrument can measure BPN context English courses at feasible use measuring BPN. only got one invalid item "relatedness" indicator.
